Mason Clark Associates worked closely with the Fitzwilliam Malton Estate on the first phase of the refurbishment of Grade II* Listed York House in Malton. This distinguished element of the Malton streetscape will become a wedding venue and important additional accommodation for the adjacent Talbot Hotel.
MCA initially assisted architect Jan Maciag with the feasibility studies, Planning Application and Listed Building Consent. This required detailed discussion with the local Conservation Officer and Historic England. We then designed careful interventions to strengthen the timber structures to both the roof and first floors. We also provided temporary works advice for a large bespoke marquee and decking platform, used as an external events space.
