Mason Clark Associates provided civil and structural services for the new Visitor Centre and museum refurbishment at Rievaulx Abbey. Incorporated within this high quality timber framed project is the provision of a new tea room and shop. A much improved fully refurbished museum displays the history of Rievaulx Abbey, its story and role within England's monastic past.
Archaeological remains and protected trees needed to be considered during the foundation design for this project. Further to this, Mason Clark Associates have provided a flood risk assessment, and reviewed and upgraded the drainage works and sewage treatment plant in line with the projected increase in visitor numbers.
