M181 Northern Junction - North Lincolnshire

Mason Clark Associates were appointed through the North Lincolnshire Council Professional Services Framework to represent NLC as NEC 3 Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor & NEC Supervisor. The project was to construct a new 120m ICD roundabout on the M181 motorway, to the west of Scunthorpe. The proposal included for a new 4 arm roundabout to provide access to the new Lincolnshire Lakes development site and football club site. The project included full site clearance, alterations to existing gulley’s, earthworks, drainage, kerbs, pavement construction, fencing, VRS, road lining, signage and road lighting.

The M181 is planned to be de-trunked and it was agreed with North Lincolnshire Council that the design of the new roundabout should be to the local authority standards.

MCA wrote the contract documents and assisted with the price negotiations, as part of a tender exercise with the the main contractor ESH Construction Ltd were appointed via the Yorcivil2 framework agreement on an NEC3 ECC Option A.

MCA were the NEC 3 Project manager and undertook the role to manage the NEC3 contract and assist with the call off from the Yorcivil2 framework. Also acting as Cost consultant (QS) assisting with the preparation, evaluation and negotiation of the contract award. We assessed, provided and issued the monthly valuations, together with the monthly spend and cash flow reports.
