At the commencement of the framework the YWS Land and Property team were responsible for the management and protection of the buildings and structures from modern to historic throughout the YWS estate.
The requirement was for us to visually inspect and take photos as a survey of all the properties and provide risk analysis on different Planned Maintenance Inspections making recommendations/references to building regulations and health and safety requirements.
Ultimately, we produced 71 PMI reports, these reports provided information on the required works to each structure/property over 1, 2, 3, 4 to 9, 10 to 15 and 15 years. We did this in partnership with YWS to develop the detailed 25-year maintenance plan to meet its obligations and protect its assets for future generations. The development of the plan supported YWS key objectives of excellent catchments, rivers and coast.
We supported YWS to develop the Rural Buildings & Housing Maintenance Management Service to help manage and prioritise the 25-year plan, including all aspects of rural building & housing maintenance, restoration, refurbishment, demolition and construction of new agricultural building.
Coupled with our chartered building surveyor experience, we added value in historical/listed agricultural and tenanted buildings knowledge.
