Matt Thornton - Associate - Hull Office

 Matt Thornton is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 10 years’ experience of civil and structural engineering design, having worked on many varied projects. He can design in all major building materials to a proficient level, with a particular specialism in post-tensioned concrete design. Matt has a keen eye for detail when reviewing a building scheme and has experience in working with other specialists such as Geotechnical, Drainage and Environmental engineers.

Matt is currently based in the Hull office of Mason Clark Associates. He has also benefited from a six month secondment to a contractor in 2009, working in a site based role on a medical centre project in Hull gaining valuable practical experience.

Robert Thew - Associate - York Office

Robert is a Chartered Structural Engineer with over thirty years of experience on a great variety of construction projects from new build, refurbishment and forensic investigation of structural failures.

Robert has a particular interest in developing innovative solutions to structural problems and adapting existing building structures for new uses.

Stuart Dick - Associate - York Office

 
Stuart is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist with over 30 years of experience on a diverse and challenging range of construction and engineering projects.

Following several years on site of major civil engineering projects involving in the practical details of construction, Stuart moved into the design office to design and administer contracts. Stuart is very keen that designs must be practical, comprehensive and work and likes to see projects develop from conception, through design and development and then execution and subsequent use and ongoing maintenance.

Stuart has a particular interest in drainage and flood defences and the appropriate application of sustainable drainage principles in all drainage design.

Dominic Kidd BSc (Hons), MSc (Eng), CEng, MIStructE - Associate - York Office

Dominic Kidd - Associate - York Office

Dominic is a Chartered Structural Engineer with over ten years of experience working on a wide range of projects in sectors including retail, commercial, healthcare, industrial and residential.

Competent at designing in the full range of materials including steelwork, concrete, masonry and timber.
Extensive experience in the design of steel framed structures including portal frames, braced frames, steel and composite design.

Dominic graduated in 2008, gained a Masters in 2010 and joined Mason Clark Associates in 2014.

Gavin Shepherd BSc (Hons) - Associate - Leeds Office

Gavin Shepherd - Associate - Leeds Office

Gavin has over 10 years experience within Civil Engineering and has gained much experience in the design of infrastructure, including highways, drainage, earthworks and external works for residential and commercial schemes including Section 104 and Section 185 drainage, Section 38 and 278 highway adoption agreements.

He has developed his experience into flood mitigation and has produced designs for feasibility studies, planning and construction.

Gavin graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2007 and joined Mason Clark Associates in 2009 as an Infrastructure Engineer.
