Pocklington Arts Centre

Mason Clark Associates were commissioned to act as Project Manager, Principal and Lead Designer for this project, carrying out all the NEC3 contract administration under the YorBuild framework as well as all planning and building control submissions. Structural engineering, listed building works and Party Wall services were also provided for this refurbishment of the Pocklington Arts Centre.

This work was carried out with the aim of increasing accessibility to the building, improving the customer experience and ensuring its long term sustainability.

This refurbishment scheme involved internal remodelling of Oak House, a 17th Century Grade II building which forms the front section of the Arts Centre, to create a bar and seating area, meeting rooms and improved access facilities.

A new lobby, office, meeting room and commercial kitchen were developed as part of the ground floor refurbishment.
External works were also carried out to create a new mono-pitch roof and reconfigure the surface water drainage.

A link building was created to enclose a flat roof first floor area to the rear of Oak House.
